Al-Anon District 10 Public Outreach (PO)
It has always been Al-Anon's approach to carry a clear and simple message about our program of recovery: to let people know what we are, what we do, and how they can come into contact with us. Our Public Outreach is based on the following, which promote unity and clarity within the fellowship as well as awareness and hope outside the fellowship. In District 10, we encourage Public Outreach through our District Public Outreach committee, members, groups, and utilizing the World Service Office website.
1. District 10 Public Outreach Committee
Those working in Public Outreach are charged with making Al-Anon visible to the public and to the professionals in the community. We offer Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to radio and TV stations, host tables at Health Fairs, and can provide outreach literature to local facilities or institutions.
Informational Panels or Meetings On Wheels are a great way to bring awareness of the Al-Anon program to friends and families of alcoholics. We can bring these to your facility! Please contact us at [email protected] if you are interested in having us visit your health fair or alcohol recovery center with meetings and literature.

2. Members & Groups
Members and Groups provide Public Outreach by leaving Al-Anon information in a multitude of places to attract members. Al-Anon literature, meeting lists, older Forum magazines and Al-Anon's Public Outreach magazine, Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism, are great resources for education. The Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism magazine is available to download or to purchase multiple copies from our local literature distribution center. Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism (AFA) is available in three languages: English, Spanish, and French. It is a great way to introduce Al-Anon to people who are unfamiliar with us, to inform professionals that Al-Anon is a wonderful resource, and to motivate patients/clients to attend their first meeting.
